Oh yeah...

I forgot to share an important lesson with you. lol We learned early in our travels that remote starters for cars will lock the doors on you. LOL We're laughing now, but that's not what it sounded like Saturday morning. After spending our first night on the road (in Tok, Alaska), Bob thought it a good idea to have the car running while he loaded it since is was "freezin' degrees" outside. Well...when you start the car with the remote starter, it will shut off in 15 minutes, so he put the keys in and turned the ignition so that it would keep running. You have to hit the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter link. We didn't think that was necessary since we weren't in the car about to drive away. BUT, rest assured, we will next time!!! lol After a few minutes, the remote starter locked the car doors (yes, they were shut in between loading). AND, I was a smart girl and packed Bob's set of keys "somewhere." I also put a "gutted" key in a box of keys in the car. We have a "gutted" key because it had to be sacrificed for the electronic parts to make the remote starter work. However, the actual key part will unlock the door (if it's not locked in the car!). So, we started off our trip by feeding the Tok Towing Service's family for a day. Bob called the Alaska Highway Patrol there in Tok, and they gave him a number to the tow company. The Highway Patrol said the only way they would get into the car is if it was life threatening (they didn't know Bob was about to kill me...lol...not really Ü). The tow guy came in about five minutes (that's all it takes from even the furthest point out in Tok...lol). He charged only $25, but we gratefully handed him $50. It was worth every penny!

Sounds like this trip is a real test of Bob's love for you! LOL!! Thankfully, he isn't leaving you on the side of the road somewhere!!
